Following up on my colleague Jay Santos' video, How To Integrate a JavaScript Plugin to Your OutSystems application, I thought it might be helpful to do a how-to video that shows what to do when you need to communicate between your JavaScript plugin and the screen it resides on.

For a normal Web Block, this can be as simple as adding an Event, and wiring that up on your screen, but those events run on the server side. With a JavaScript plugin, you might need to trigger the event from the client side JavaScript code.

In this video, I show you how you can make this work, with the help of the Web Event JavaScript Extensibility component, available on the Forge.

Special thanks to Rita Diaz from the OutSystems UI team, for helping me put this example together.

Loving these new videos!
