How to show progress while background process is going on

Hi,

I have a web screen for uploading .csv file with 1,00,000 records to the server and there are validations happening on the uploaded records in the background so it takes some time to process it before saving the data to entity's. In the meanwhile I want to show the end user that 20% or 40% or 80% validations are done how can I show that.
