[Table Column Reorder] SilkUI Dependency
Question

Forge component by Justin Babel

Our organization just began using Outsystems.   During our training we were told to avoid using SilkUI because it is being deprecated soon.

I'm wondering if there are any plans to update this component so it will not be dependent on SilkUI?   We are looking for a way to allow users to move columns at runtime and save their settings so it will persist when they log back in.   This module will work great for that, but are trying to avoid the SilkUI.  (Which is a problem because almost all forge modules have that dependency)

Solution

Hi Josh,

I just released the new version of this component, removing the Silk UI reference and updating the demo module.

The resizable columns component actually doesn't have any references to Silk UI at this time, but as I was updating the demo module to use the new OutSystems UI templates, I noticed some odd behavior with the component and the new templates. I will have to take a little more time to analyze the issues I saw and release a new version once they are corrected.

Thanks,

Justin

Hi Josh,

Thanks for the feedback. I will release a new version removing the Silk reference over the weekend and follow up with you here once it is released.

Thanks,

Justin

Much appreciated!   Will you be able to do the same to your column resize module?   I think I’ll probably end up utilizing both, assuming they play well with each other.

Yeah, sure thing. I will update that one as well.

They worked together nicely with the silk themes, but I will make sure before I publish that they are meshing well in the new OutSystems UI themes. If not, I will see if I have time to add the changes needed to get them working together again.

At the very least, I will have new version for both published without the Silk references over the weekend.

Thanks,

Justin

Thanks again!

Thank you, I look forward to checking out the new version!

This works great, thank you!    I'm going to follow the resize column component as well so I will know when the new version is ready.
