Hello.

I need help with RichMail. I can't send a mail. This module has no documentation and it makes it difficult to understand. I read a few topics on the forum and tried to use the tips given there, but nothing helped. That's why I'm looking for help.

This is what the method of sending a message looks like:

When you try to send a message, an Exception occurs.

PS: Based on the information I read on the forum. You do not need to configure the SMTP server in ServiceCenter to send messages using RichMail. Is this true?

What is the Exception you are getting? Please share the exception message and/or stack trace.

You can find a CHM help file for the extension in the following thread:

Thanks for this link. But unfortunately, this docs has little useful information

Exception message:
"501-5.5.4 HELO/EHLO argument "tomail@gmail.com:password"
501-5.5.4 invalid, closing connection.
501 5.5.4  https://support.google.com/mail/?p=helo b46sm12575834qtk.77 - gsmtp
EHLO tomail@gmail.com:password"

And without argument Identity occured this exception:

530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first. d142sm13361844qke.20 - gsmtp
AUTH LOGIN

Something to keep in mind...RichMail is an older component included for backward compatibility and scenarios like POP3 email.

Email capabilities are built into the platform itself, and can be configured in Service Center:

https://success.outsystems.com/Documentation/11/Extensibility_and_Integration/Configure_OutSystems_to_Send_Emails

Sending an email is documented here:

https://success.outsystems.com/Documentation/11/Developing_an_Application/Implement_Application_Logic/Send_an_Email_From_a_Web_Application

You may want to try switching to the techniques outlined above, as you may have more success that way.

Hi Yuriy,

The documentation is actually inside the Extension:

It's a Windows help file, called RichMail.chm. You can open it by double clicking:

Note that GMail in particular is a bit finicky about the way it accepts SMTP connections. Click the support.google.com link in the error message you posted above to find out more.
