Generate (eñe, enie, spanish letter enye, lowercase n with tilde) character

Hi Team,

Is there a way to generate an (eñe, enie, spanish letter enye, lowercase n with tilde) character in outsystems?

Thanks in advance

In HTML it is a common special character. Just write & ntilde ; in an expression with Escape Content=No.

In OutSystems you can get it with the chr() function and the ASCII number.

Hi Nuno,

I have searched for the ascii code for (enye) which is 165 and use chr(165) in an expression. But it generates "¥" instead of "Ñ".

Solution

You're right! I'm reporting this issue.

Try 209 (upper case) 241 (lower case).

Solution

Nice, It works

Thanks a lot Sir !!

Note that ASCII is limited to the range 32-126. Any character below 32, and the character 127, is a control character, and not guaranteed to display anything. Anything above 127 depends on the code page, which by default will be Unicode/UTF-8. And as you can see here, 241 corresponds to Unicode Character 'LATIN SMALL LETTER N WITH TILDE' (U+00F1).

However, I'm a bit at a loss as to why you would want to use e.g. Chr(241), when everywhere in Service Studio you can just use "ñ". There's no reason whatsoever to use Chr() with a constant value!
