Mobile Video streaming using IFrame get no reponse or error processing your request

Goal: App with Video call using iframe and an external site using OpenTok webRCT

Problem: The app starts a new OpenTok session and uses the session ID is used i the iFrames url. The url is an external website that holds opentok streaming session(using: https://www.outsystems.com/forge/component-overview/1317/opentok-connector), the site is prepared by creating a user token for the session. The Session id and the token is used to start the streaming session. When doing this through an iframe the app crashes however when staring the streaming manually via a browser it works fine. I'm wondering if this could have something to do with allowing the use of camera and microphone. The app never ask for permission to use the camera or the microphone, but the browser always ask permission.

Hi Eric,

The component seems outdated because it hasn't been updated since 2016 , so i don't have a solution for your problem. But i can inform you that we recently launched a new component in the forge that should make it possible to reach your goal.

The Nexmo Video component allows you to start or join a video conference from your OutSystems project.

The component will provide you webblocks to meet your needs for creating or joining video sessions. It has been divided in two parts:

  • Client Side, which uses the OpenTok.JS library. This will provide most of the core functionalities, and runs in the user's browser or mobile app.

  • Server Side, which lets you create Sessions and generate Tokens. Overall it will pass authentication information to the client.

For more information take a look into the Nexmo Web Component: https://www.outsystems.com/forge/component-overview/6809/nexmo-web

If you have any question regarding this component please let us know :)

Kind regards,
