I would like to ask for inputs on how to approach this scenario

I am trying to find a way to limit the height of drop down by half.

Actually a similar question came up and had a few approach offered, It is just that I do not know where to place it or if it actually works.

Dorpdown height is managed by browser and setting size and lengh property doesn't work. You will need some javascript to do what you are looking for. Here is an example for your reference.

I tried doing that approach and this happened.
I placed the following javascripts in the extended properties of the dropdown.

Did I do something wrong?

It's happening because where you define this drop down may be div or table row height fix once increase this height and set drop down box height 100%. now this is visible properly.
