Hello everyone.

I have a problem connecting to a customer's database. The biggest problem is that the client uses a program within a mainframe, and uses SqlServer to retrieve the information for that project. Using a connection to an SQL database, we need to use a command like "Select * from openquery ([query])" to execute the queries. This is because this connection has no explicit communication with the mainframe.

Yes, it is very complex lol. Knowing this, the client installed ODBC on the same machine as OutSystems is.

Is there any way to connect this ODBC to OutSystems?

Thank you in advance

Hi Henrique,

Not having any experience on this subject, let me point you to this documentation that states it is possible to integrate with an external database that is not natively supported by creating an extension (custom c# code) in combination with ODBC drivers.

https://www.outsystems.com/evaluation-guide/use-outsystems-with-existing-databases/#3

And here’s an old HowTo of OutSystems using ODBC to connect with a Lotus Notes / Domino application.

https://www.outsystems.com/forums/discussion/13184/howto-connecting-to-a-lotus-notes-domino-application-using-odbc-and-linked-ser/

I hope this helps you in some way.

Regards,

Nordin
