How to use Push Notifications with Amazon SNS in Outsystems Mobile App?

Hello guys,

                  I want to use amazon sns for push notifs in my application. Actually I couldn't find a correct explanation anywhere about how it is done. Could you guys please help me?

 Hi Daniel,

                 I have downloaded this one: https://www.outsystems.com/forge/component-overview/2882/amazon-sns  actually. What's the difference also after downloading it how should I use it? I'm new to all this actually.

Hi Vaishnavi,

I only have played around with the component I shared, I always like to look at the number of downloads an rating of components that tend to do similar job. The one I mentioned is used more often, and is developed by a highly respected developer from OutSystems.

  1. You will need to install the component in your environment.
  2. Read AWS SNS developer documenation on how to configure the service in AWS Console
    https://docs.aws.amazon.com/sns/latest/dg/welcome.html
  3. After setting up the SNS in AWS you have an Amazon AccessKeyId, Region and SecretAccessKey
  4. You need to configure those in Service Center for module AmazonSNS on the site properties tab:
  5. Then use the consume the server actions from AmazonSNS module in your application to use SNS.
