How can I set a link to go to my app inside google play/app store
Question

I need to make a link inside my mobile app screen that sends the user to app store ou google play depending of the current mobile. The objetive is to open the store already with my app open.

I tried to use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=myapp but it is opening in browser and not in the store.

How can I achieve this?

Solution

Hello Ricardo,

Hope you're doing well.

If you want to open an app in Google Play (for Android devices), you just need to redirect to an External Site with the following URL:

"market://details?id=<app-identifier>"

where <app-identifier> is the identifier of your application (the same that you configure in Service Center). You can see it directly in your Google Play link:

Regarding App Store (for iOS devices), it's a similar approach, but the URL should be:

"itms-apps://appstore.com/<app-name>"

where <app-name> is the name of your application. You can also see it directly in your App Store link:

You should redirect to one or another depending on the operating system of the device. So you might want to use GetPlatform action from CommonPlugin to check if the device is Android or iOS:

Hope that this helps you!
