Freelance job posts for OutSystems projects in the internet

Hi everyone.

These just came up in a Google Alert, and I thought it would be interesting to bring to your attention.

Based on the ads, there's a UK publisher requiring a back-end and customer front end system built, and they have chosen the Agile Platform to do it on. They are looking for a developer who has experience with this system. To be honest, I don't know who the customer is.

You can see the job posting details here:

If you have an account on either of those sites and are interested in it, you can apply straight away.

On a side note, I would like to gauge your opinion on this. Are you interested in doing this kind of freelance paid projects on your spare time? Is this topic something that interests you?

Let us know, either here in the forums or through Private Message, so I can get a feel on whether or not I should keep letting you know of similar job postings that I come across.

And, to close the topic, if you decide to apply for those job postings, good luck with it, and let us know how it goes if you feel like it :)

Yes, I would LOVE to see more like this! In fact, I was really hoping that by getting the developer certification in the Academy, that folks would be able to browse for me and find me as a potential consultant.

Earlier today, I had an idea to pitch to the folks there, which would be an Outsystem AppStore. It would be a place where folks could sell "skeletons" of applications ready for customization. I think that one of the best parts of the Agile Platform is that it is trivial to take someone else's app, understand it, make it totally customized to your needs. If OutSystems in interested in that, I'd be delighted to assist with the project (especially since I have experience in using Agile Platform for a "paid service" type of site!).

On that note, I actually advertise on my company's site that we do Agile Platform consulting. I'd love to see if there is a way that I could work with OS to get some traction going with that, especially since I am in the US where there is less of a presence from what I understand.

Hi Justin,

I'm happy to know there's some enthusiasm going on regarding this sort of initiatives - after all, we have a large pool of talented people in our community, and it's good for everyone if this kind of opportunities start coming up.

Regarding the other topics, all I can say is that we might have some things up our sleeves that could answer many of your ideas!

I'll let you know if something comes up in the meanwhile, how about it?

Keep the feedback coming.

I was going to respond, but the pay rate is $10 - $15 an hour.

I think this is great for company owner's evaluating the adaptability of Outsystems. i asked a simple question a few weeks ago where I would be THRILLED to pay to see if there was a simple solution that had not been explored.

I would gladly take a look at it for you if you would like.

Thank you for the offer. Let me strip out the areas I am having issues with and will post the .oml for your review. The most important process for me revolves around the client side tabs features. I am looking for a way to actvate or deactivate tabs based upon parameters set in an entity.
Here is a rough draft of the issue.

I am taking a look at it now. Please send me an email at justinjames [at] titaniumcrowbar.com to let me know exactly what you are trying to accomplish.

Thanks!

Hello there everyone! I know this topic is a little bit old but I would like to hear from you and freelance jobs that you know. Thanks for your time. Best regards, -- Ricardo Saraiva
Hello Ricardo Saraiva,

What do you exactly want to know about this?
If you want to know some experiences, I can tell you mine, because I had a chance to work as a part time freelancer, for an american company in the electronics industry..
Due to the distance and the fact of having to do all the work of analysis requirement, online meetings and study of various applications to integrate it wasn't easy..
However it was a good experience to learn new businesses, new ideas, new softwares and new people with different work methods.

Financially the return was low, however the experience worth it..
Just a note: the number of Outsystems related jobs is low..But you can get a lot of web based projects a talk with your client about the Outsystems Agile Platform..

Best Regards,

Hi Gonçalo,

first of all, thanks for your reply.
I'm sorry, but I wrote my last reply using a smartphone and it wasn't easy. :)

It was suppose to mean:
"I would like to hear from you about any freelance jobs that you know." - and you answered it in your last paragraph.

Is there any online platform with Outsystems freelance jobs?

By the way, your experience seems interesting.

Best regards,

Hello Ricardo,

Sorry about my last extended reply, but the question you asked was a little bit ambigous.
Since I know, there is no online platform exclusive for Outsystems jobs, because is not the most requested technology worldwide.
But in sites like Elance you can find sometimes some projects using Outsystems, like I did in my case (I used Elance and was invited from there to work with the american company).
You also can search more jobs in sites like:

http://www.freelancer-job.com/

http://www.donanza.com/jobs/outsystem

http://www.freelancer.com

Hope this helps..

Best Regards,
Gonçalo Martins
I didn't know the first two websites.

Thanks for the tips!
