How to incorporate a spellchecking widget in my application?

How to incorporate a spellchecking widget in my application?

Hello, everyone.

I need to insert a widget to spellcheck what is typed in an Input Text widget. Since i couln't find any component that did that in the site, i searched the web and found one that gives freely both it's HTML and it's Javascript (for reference, it's spellchecker.net).

The problem is that i don't know how or where to insert this javascript. Can someone help me?

Thanks in advance,

Luís Reis
Hi Luis, and welcome to the Outsystems community forums.

Take a look at the documentation http://www.outsystems.com/help/servicestudio/5.1/Web_User_Interface/Adding_Java_Script.htm here you can learn a little more how to do what you want.

After that if you need some more help, just let us know!

Hi Miguel, thanks for the help. However, i had already tried that, and it didn't do anything (like, no errors and no results).

I believe that the problem is that the javascript code of the SCAYT is a complement to it's HTML, meaning that it can't be separated.

Can someone either recommend me another widget that has a spellcheck function to incorporate in my application, or a way to include this one in it?

Thanks in advance,

Luís Reis
Hi Luis, and welcome to the OutSystems community forums.

What Miguel stated was actually the right way to do it. Without you giving us more details of what component you're trying to integrate, as well as what problems are you facing - probably attaching a sample eSpace - it'll be hard for us to know more info about exactly how to integrate the specific widget you're using. It might indeed be the case that the Javascript for spellchecking is linked to the widget's HTML (it is a common scenario, it does make sense), so you might have to use that widget yourself in your eSpace.

If I recall correctly, there has been some sort of success in using CKEditor and its spell-checking features by community members. Do look into this forum post for more details.

I hope this helps. Let us know how it goes!

Hello Luis try with a expression.
check here. http://www.outsystems.com/help/servicestudio/5.1/Language_Reference/Expressions/Un-escape_Expression_Contents.htm
if that does not work
check this JQuery component and try to integrate it.
