Hi,
Does outsystems not provide an out of the box email server of its own as part of its platform services? So, to send emails, you always need to explicitly configure the SMTP server? It would have been nice to see a default implementation for this provided by outsystems. Something like [environmentname]@automaticoutsystemsmails.com and that it would just work effortlessly out of the box. Or, am I asking too much here? :-)
Maybe you can place this in the ideas section:
https://www.outsystems.com/ideas/?page=1&q=&t=&s=&c=&o=trending&scat=ideas
And for you, why this is a good solution? I think that it's good to understand your use case to see if it is the best approach.
I give you the example when we need to configure domains in our emails (like the companies or brands emails), I believe that with your solution that will be a little more confusing.
Best regards,
Ricardo Pereira
The use case was a POC of fast email setup without the need for specific company branding. (getting informed per mail about failed nightly timer runs)Other than that, you are right, most real project use cases would have the requirement to send on behalf of the @company domain, so I do understand the need for SMTP configuration. But I will, still, post this as an idea suggestion. Thanks for your response Ricardo!
