I am trying to fill up my text and the white background to cover the grey area but I am unsure where to change it.
Can anyone advise on this?

According to me you can put those items in a container and give its width accordingly so that it can cover the whole space.

I would try what @Tanisha Mahendru said.
But I recommend you to put the columns, the 12 of the screen, or give the "full-width" to the container.
Also, just some advice, you could put a "padding-base" in the container to have space in the borders.

@Cindy See Its better to make sure your list items has 100% width
@Cindy See give width : 100%; in the css to the parent container acheive this , if the css overwritten means try like.width: 100% !important;
If you attach a oml, it will be easy to debug and tell you the exact issue.
