Hi All,

The error proved to be much harder to troubleshoot and resolve than at first sight and we sincerely apologise for the time waiting.

After further analysis, we have determined that there was routing misbehaviour which was causing the server requests not to work in the debug sessions for traditional web apps.

We have already applied a fix and we believe this behaviour will no longer occur.

Warm regards

Hello again Nuno,

Hope you're doing well.

About your issue, I was able to reproduce this behavior at my side. The debugger is not indeed working for me as well, using Version 11.53.16 / Build 61265 of Service Studio.

I'll report this issue to OutSystems and let you know.

Kind regards,

Rui Barradas

Hi Rui,

Thanks for taking it up to report the issue to Outsystems. Even i have been facing a similar issue for Service Studio Version 11.53.14 / Build 61243 when i try to debug on the personal environment which got recently upgraded from Platform Server version 11.16.0 (Build 35766) to version 11.17.0 (Build 36291)  somewhere end of August.

I would like to add to it that for me the Debugger is not working when it comes to Traditional Web App, while its working for Reactive App. Probably for the Service Studio version and/or Platform Server Version you have reported the issue, may be the same behavior is exhibited as well. If that is the case you can add the note to the support ticket if it is of help in investigating the root cause.

Thanks & Regards,

Saurabh

one week with this problem and no solution at the moment. Please tell the outsystems team this is a high priority problem.

Programming without debug its impossible.

Hi Nuno,

Rui already said he would report this.

But if you encounter this in a professional setting, you could open a support ticket or let your employer/customer emphasise the importance to Outsystems, if you encounter this in a personal environment, you'll have a harder time persuading them it is high priority, I think.

This is not a show stopper per se, you could revert back to an earlier version of Service Studio while there is no solution.

Are you still having this problem?

Yes, no stop on breakpoints in debugger mode.

"Programming without debug its impossible." -- really, because we did it for decades.

Be inventive, add a textarea and dump variables into it, output data directly to a page.

Trust me, we all used to "echo" statements directly to the page long before there were step debuggers. It's annoying, yes, but not impossible.

I have never gotten OS to stop at a break point. I just gave up! I followed multiple "workaround" posts here on the forums, but the code just never stops.

Like I said, annoying AF, but I just manually dump data.

Hello Nuno Rosado,

I have the same issue as you.

I have tried in different ways but still failed. The ways I have tried are:

- Check to "Use one connection per request in debugger" in preferences

- Uninstall version 11.53 and replace with older versions

- Turn off firewall

Very sad :( :(

I dont understand why they not fix this issue.

This is a nightmare and a show stopper.

Creating apps without a debug its a nightmare.

Very sad :( :(

Hi Phong and Nuno,

Can you confirm this problem only happens when debugging a Traditional web app, but it works in Reactive? Or do you have the problem with Reactive as well?

Hi Phong,

I'm not from OutSystems so I can't fix it. I know however that OutSystems is still looking into the root cause.

Like Phong, we are waiting for the fix before we come back to outsystems.

Its the first time i stop using outsystems because of a huge problem.

OutSystems detected an issue with debugging on the OutSystems platform.

This issue causes intermittent problems with debugging for traditional apps on PE (Personal Edition) infrastructures. This issue does not affect other infrastructures (Enterprise Cloud or On-Prem) nor Reactive apps.

We have not yet determined the root cause for this nor a valid workaround, although we are actively working with our cloud provider on solving this problem.

By the end of the week (September 30) we should have additional feedback on a solution for this problem and a timeline for it to be solved.

みなさん、いろいろと調査ありがとうございます。
私も同じ問題が発生しました。従来のWebアプリでデバッグしても、ブレイクポイントで停止しません。
OutSystems側の問題なので、早めに回答があると良いですね。

Thank you all for your research. I had the same problem. Debugging in a traditional web app doesn't stop at breakpoints. It's a problem on OutSystems side, so it would be nice to get an answer soon.
