Hi here, i am new to OutSystems. i have a quick question related to the platform server upgrade.
Currently we have 4 production environment, which are:
Server A: Controller + FE
Server B: FE
Server C: FE
Server D: FE
We have only run the installation file and complete the upgrade process on Server A. Than we checked all other platform server version on Server B,C,D with localhost/servicecenter and Configuration tools > Help>About. we notice that all platform servers B,C,D also upgrade automatically without running the installation file.
Is that normal?
If my memory doesn't fail me, I believe that Service Center and Configuration Tool report the version running on the Controller node.
Thanks for the reply.
So how can we confirm the platform version running on Server B,C,D?
I have check the configuration tools on all servers(B,C,D) and found a version file located in OutSystems installation folder (.../programe file/OutSystems/…) which showing our server is running 11.16.1.
If the version number inside this version file is correct, than it bring me to a security concerns, how OutSystems remote upgrade on Server B,C,D.
We will upgrade to 11.18.1 very soon, hope we can confirm the steps before that.
The installation checklist explicitly mentions that "The steps sequence for the Server profile should be applied in each one of the Servers. ". Thus, you need to upgrade servers B, C, and D, regardless of what the file says. Maybe there's a better way, but one way to confirm that the version was not upgraded on servers B, C, and, D would be to compare binaries across servers.
Here is the screen cap from Server C. Is that mean the version number here is only showing the Server A(controller node) version, it doesn't mean that the Server C is also running 11.16.1 ?
My colleague upgraded from 11.14.0 to 11.16.1.
