Hello Team,
Myself pavan, being certified O11 Reactive developer in outsystems. Need suggestions relates to next certification which i can prepare and obtain based on my skill/experience.
Currently I have 2+ years of experience as application developer. Any points which outsystems certification i can target for going to next level.
I am planning to have Mobile Developer Specialist next and what lies ahead next from this point?
Thanks.
Hello again Pavans, Yes, from what I understood, the exam is focused on the fundamental knowledge related to reactive web application development, such as:
But since I didn't try it, I'm not fully able to recommend it. I just shared my personal experience :) Anyway, I believe the ultimate goal is to have both Professional Mobile Developer and Professional Web Developer Certifications. So, my advice would be to start with the one that you might feel more comfortable now and grow step by step.
Best regards, Ana
Hello
I would say that you can go through the documentation available topic-wise for each of these.
If you go watch these videos:
Apart from this go to the documentation available
You can check out sample papers on the certification detail documents which you can download from the certification page.
You can also go to the links which are there available in video tutorials for more theory.
And If you have worked on any application on mobile that would be a plus point for you.
Go through Offline Sync documentation Videos and Forge available which you can check and do some practical on it so that you have Ideo on how Synchronization works. It has most of the wattage in certification, then we have some concepts on Local Storage.
So I did the same when I appear for the certification. If you will go through all of this, And a little practice, You would be able to clear the certification.
ThanksTousif Khan
Hello @Tousif Khan very much thanks for your kind reply and suggestions.
My question was not on how to prepare for various certification. It was rather on "What is next certification, do I can plan to get certified after Reactive Web Developer certification.
Is it I can take "Web Developer Specialist" certification directly as my next goal in outsystems certification journey or any other choice?
Hello Pavans,
Sharing my experience:
I started by doing the same first certification as you. After that, due to the fact that I was working with reactive applications on a big factory, it was suggested to me to do the Mobile one since there, you can learn how to sync data (sometimes, you have some clients that request the apps to run offline).
After that, I understood by myself that the next logical step was to do the Architecture one because it is relevant for you as a developer to give the best results to the client, meaning not slow and outdated modules. Notice that Architecture is one of the fundamental tools to ensure the success of projects by saving time, energy, and money, and minimizing the risk of errors in the process.
For me, between these two, I would choose the one that makes more sense for you right now (or even do both :) ).Due to recent events (meaning, ODC), I would also recommend that you take a look at this post (https://www.outsystems.com/forums/discussion/85379/ready-for-odc-new-training-and-certification-are-now-live/) and to the ODC guide path and training :)
Best regards,
Ana
Hello @Ana Agostinho Thanks for your suggestions. As per my understanding, there is a new certification added as "Web Developer Specialist" which is more advance to reactive web developer. Also, it is automatically considered for Professional Web Developer certification as well if you clear both Architecture/Security Specialist certification and with Web Developer Specialist.
Hence thinking to plan and study for Web Developer Specialist certification.
Having just completed the Professional Web Developer requirements, I would suggest you look at one of the three specialisms required to achieve that milestone:
Whilst none of them was “easy”, I’ve listed them in order of my experience of them, from easier to harder.
If you have a broad range of IT experience, and some common sense, then the Security Specialist should be the the simplest to achieve.
Web Developer Specialist should be within the grasp of all developers who have built up sufficient experience in Outsystems. My one word of advice is that you do need to have experience of integrations, and using Integration Builder to succeed with this one.
I found Architecture Specialist the hardest, mainly because there is much knowledge to be remembered, and the questions were of the type where there were many good answers, but only one best answer.
Hope that helps
Thanks a lot Darren, this would be of great help.
