Native dropdown customization
Question

I'm customizing this dropdown and it's not a "Custom Dropdown", I'm using the native version. I changed the color of the dropdown display to white, but I want the options to have the color black. Is it possible? How can I do that?

Hi, you can't use a custom dropdown, and apply your css there? Check this post, it contains more in depth discussion about it:
https://www.outsystems.com/forums/discussion/78725/cutomization-of-dropdown-options-values-and-onhover-style-also/

Hope it helps,

Regards João.

Hi,

I don't understand well, you changed the color to white but you and the options in black?

The class you changed affect the options. What you want to affect with the white?

Hi Paulo,

I believe she changed the color, and it applied to the dropdown container and options. She wants to apply the black colour background only on the options list. Is that it @Isabela Santos ?

The css snippet she applied affectes the dropdown div aswell.

Kind Regards,

João

The container of option by default is white and the all of options are in black. That's why I don't understand the aim.

see the second image shared, the chosen value of the dropdown is now white, what she wants, but the options color is also turned white, which makes them invisible against the white background.  I think she is happy with that background to be white for the options, she just wants their text in a darker color so they are readable.

Hi @Isabela Santos ,

just add css to set the color of the option, the option is a child of the select, and color is an inherited property.

so something like

[whatever you have made green in your screenprint] .dropdown-container > select.dropdown-display option{

             color: darkblue;

}
