Hi,
I have a question about connecting OutSystems to SQL Server.
We have confirmed that it is possible to connect to SQL Server "on Azure" from the evaluation version environment.
Is it possible to connect to a SQL Server "built on-premises"?
We are currently considering whether to deploy OutSystems in the cloud or on-premises. Is it possible to connect from OutSystems built on-premises?
If the SQL Server "built on-premises" cannot connect, is there a way to get it via a published "web service"? If there are any others, please let me know.
thank you.
Hi Ei Nagara,
Yes, technically that should be possible, if your organization allows your OutSystems on-premise infrastructure to connect to resources available in the cloud like Azure SQL Server. If you have the SQL server running in your own Azure VPC you can also connect. And of course you are technically always able to connect to a SQL Server instances in your onpremise network. The person responsible for the internal network should be able to help you with this.
Why would you want to connect via a published web service?
Regards,
Daniel
Hi Daniel,
Thank you for your reply.
But the question I want to ask is not "Connecting to SQL Server in the cloud", but "Connecting to SQL Server on-premises".
Hi I will update my previous reply
