How can I determine the number of active users for each application in the system at the moment? The Servis Centre?

I don't believe this is possible to get out of platform registered/logged data.
Running a Daily Activity in ServiceCenter report gives you some numbers, but not exactly what you requested.

When integrating OutSystems with tools like Firebase and/or with external monitoring and observability tools like Elastic or Dynatrace you have much more capabilities to track usage and performance, but these tools cost a lot of money and expertise to configure, only applicable for larger OutSystems factories.
