Forge O11 - Enhancements in Team Collaboration

Hello Community,

We're excited to share the latest update to Forge O11, which brings significant enhancements to our Team collaboration features.

Enhanced Team Joining Process:

  • Justification Requirement: Now, when a user requests to join a team associated with an asset, they must provide a justification. This ensures a more thoughtful approach to team expansion.

  • Improved Communication: This justification will be sent to current team members via email and private messages, enhancing transparency and informed decision-making.

Revamped Team Section on the Asset Details Page:

  • User-Friendly Interface: We've overhauled the Team section on the asset details page, focusing on improving the user experience.

Changes to Team Invitations

  • Cancel Invitation: Owners and team members now have the ability to cancel previously sent invitations, offering greater control over the team composition.

  • Visibility Improvement: Sent invitations now appear below the asset's header, making them more accessible and noticeable.

Changes to Team Ownership

  • Renaming Team Ownership to Team Alias: We've renamed what was previously known as 'Team Ownership' to 'Team Alias'. This change aims to more accurately reflect the functionality of this feature. The Team Alias feature, remains functionality the same, but with a more appropriate name.
  • Separated the Team Alias from the Change Owner dropdown: Owners can now activate the Team Alias separately from the Change Owner. If the Team Alias is activated, it will still work the same as before, meaning that publicly, the asset and its versions will appear published under the defined Team Alias.

Over the last quarter, we've also introduced changes such as displaying MVP, Champion, and Staff tags next to the team members holding these roles. These changes, influenced by valuable feedback from our community, enhance clarity and understanding of team roles and dynamics.

We look forward to hearing your thoughts on these latest enhancements and to our ongoing collaboration.

Best regards,

The Forge O11 Team

Nice changes but although team management is important I do wonder if merge requests also on the roadmap. This will allow anyone to make changes to a component and share them with the responsible team. If approved the changes will be merged in the component and published. This feature would, for me, a huge improvement with bug fixing and such.
