Back in March we released AI Agent Builder to accelerate the way you infuse your apps with GenAI agents that supercharge productivity using LLMs, RAG, and natural language.

With the latest update of AI Agent Builder you can now build your first AI agent in minutes with the inclusion of a trial of pre-configured AI models. After installing or upgrading AI Agent Builder you will find pre-configured AI models and sample data sources which you can use to try AI Agent Builder up to 100 calls each.

Here’s how to build your fist AI agent in minutes:

Installing the latest version AI Agent Builder

1. Log into the ODC portal
2. Install or update the AI Agent Builder app from the Forge (for detailed information on installing a Forge asset, refer to Install or update a Forge asset)
3. Assign yourself the Configurator end-user role for the AI Agent Builder app (for detailed information about how to assign end-user roles in ODC portal, refer to end-user roles)
4. Open the AI Agent Builder app in the ODC portal
   • From the home page of the ODC portal, Click Apps
   • Search for AI Agent Builder
   • Click AI Agent Builder app. The AI Agent Builder app details page will display
   • Click View app
5. Once you are inside the AI Agent Builder app, click “Create Agent”

Creating an AI agent

1. Choose an AI model (you can select one of the two trial models, which you can use up to 100 calls each)
   • (Optional) To configure additional settings for the AI model click Advanced configurations
2. Select a data source
   • Toggle on Use data source
   • Choose a data source from the drop-down (you can select any of the data sources included in the trial, both have data sample data with ODC documentation)
3. Test your agent by writing in the playground. For example, since you have added a data source which contains ODC documentation, you can ask this agent about ODC concepts like “What is a library in ODC?”    
4. Adapt and repeat :) Modify your instructions based on the results until the AI generates the desired response. When you’re satisfied with the results hit “Save agent” on the top right corner.

The AI agent you created can now be called from any ODC application from the CallAgent action. See more details on how to integrate an agent in an app here.
