Hello there people! So, as the title suggests, I'm having this problem when trying to replace some placeholders inside a text box. I got a template with several text boxes grouped together and I need to replace those with some info the app provides. The problem is that it doesn't work. What happens is that all those text boxes simply disappears. When testing without these text boxes, everything works as supposed.
And i can't change the templates because those are provided by the client, there's hundreds of them and we are not supposed to alter them either.
Anyone ever had this problem? Any suggestion on how to fix this?
Thanks!
Hi Willian,
I have just tested the generation of a docx where the template has a text box, and the text box is kept on the exported file. Are you using the latest version of OfficeUtils?
Still, replacing placeholders inside text boxes is not part of the current OfficeUtils implementation. But I'm glad to investigate if and how this can be done.
Best,
Bruno
Hi there Bruno, thanks for the reply!
And yeah, I'm still using an old version. But the thing is: will the updated version be able to do that? If you can check this and confirm, I can pass this info to my techlead so that we can use this component as a solution to our problem.
Just to be sure, it would be good for me to test one of your templates to make sure that the text boxes are being properly handled. I did my own testing, but it can always be the case that it was not fully representive of your situation. Being this said, can you share with me one of your templates? If the template is confidencial, just let me know, and I will share my email address with you on a private message.
In the meantime I will start to research on how to incorporate the functionality to replace text inside text boxes.
Hi there Bruno!
We ended up using another component to solve this problem. Thanks anyway for all the support you gave!
