Mobile App Build after deployment
Question

Dear all,
when we deploy a mobile app to production, after deploy the platform always builds the app again. According to https://success.outsystems.com/documentation/11/deploying_apps/mobile_apps_packaging_and_delivery/mobile_app_update_scenarios/ this is not always needed.
Our client then always needs to deliver the new APK to all there devices?
Maybe I'm confused?

Best regards,

Hi,

Yes the mentioned in the above link then we need to build the app otherwise it's automatically updated by platform. Below scenario mentioned in the link

  • App name
  • App icon
  • Primary color of the app
  • External resource, including any configuration files of mobile plugins
  • Plugin or plugin configuration
  • Configurations for a mobile platform
  • Entry module or the name of the entry module
  • Extensibility Configurations property (for example: modification, addition or removal of mobile plugins, changes to status bar transparency, custom icons or splash screens, and similar)

Thanks

Sorry Cv,

indeed in that case the app will build again.

But even without such changes, after a deployment to Production the app always generates/builds again, what we don't expect.

This doesnt happen on for example the acceptance environment.

@Jeroen Vormer : I suggest you to please raise a ticket with Outsystems Support.  We had a similar issue with one of our client but don't remember how exactly we solved this.
