Changing action names in Integration Studio
Created on 14 Jun 2018
Pedro Coelho

I just recently found a "behavior" when using Integration Studio that is:you create an action;edit the code;go back to the IS and rename the action;open the code againAt this point you will get a new snippet of code for the newly renamed action and the old code that you had initially is still thereIt would be awesome if renaming the action in IS would actually rename the code instead of creating new code and leaving the old code as "zombie"

Recursive Web Blocks
Created on 11 Jul 2019
David Miller
17
This idea was stumbled upon trying to generate a tree list from dynamic source (table/aggregate, JSON etc). Due to dynamic source, the depth of the list is unknown until run time, so hard-coded solution is not possible.Logically this leads to using nested web blocks, taking the current object and listing its children, recursively so that each child then also displays its children. So on, so forth.Despite the data source in this case always being finite (hence, recursivity will not form an infinite loop), it is still not possible to induce web block recursivity in this way. Proposal: Allow Web Blocks to be recursive, detecting whether infinite looping will occur or not.

I think there should be some sales certification badges for the user profile similar to the technical certification badges we have.

I would like to bring this into your notice that every time I attempt for an Outsystems examination via pro proctor portal I have to face multiple issues as well as my colleagues face the same . This results in exam abandoned, other hurdles in exam as follows.Question Paper will not loadInaudible prometric voiceProctor ask to rejoin without any reason and many more unnecessary issuesAsk to connect proctor team or Outsystems teamEven After following all the instructions of proctor they don't allow to resume or retake exam It creates lot of confusion and waste lot of timeProctor is never on scheduled time and some times we have to wait for hours to complete check in processAt the End we will lose all the money spent to schedule the exam without appearing the exam due to their inconsistency

Enhance Native JSON Support in OutSystems for Seamless Complex API Integration
Created on 04 Aug 2025
Amit J

OutSystems already makes it incredibly easy to work with well-defined JSON by using structures and auto-mapping features. This is a huge time-saver for many use cases where the JSON format is stable and known in advance. However, as applications scale and start interacting with more dynamic or external APIs, developers often encounter more complex and less predictable JSON formats — ones that include dynamic keys, mixed-type arrays, deeply nested objects, or optional fields. Currently, handling such JSON in OutSystems often requires workarounds like JavaScript, server-side logic, or external services. Introducing more native low-code tools for advanced JSON manipulation would reduce complexity and enhance developer productivity even further.Key Suggestions (all optional, modular enhancements): Support for dynamic keys in JSON structures Example: { "user_1": {...}, "user_2": {...} } Allow mixed-type arrays in a single list Example: [ "Hello", 123, true, { "x": 1 } ] Enable handling of deeply nested arrays and structures Example: { "matrix": [[1, 2], [3, 4]] } Introduce JSONPath-style querying for deep traversal Extract a value like "c" from { "a": { "b": [1, { "c": true }] } }. Improve error feedback from JSONSerialize and JSONDeserialize Provide clearer debug info for mapping failures. These improvements will not only maintain the simplicity of current low-code development, but also open the door to more reliable integration with complex APIs and data formats, without disrupting the existing patterns used by the community. In one of my recent cases, I was not able to integrate a polygon type structure(standard) from the customer API, so I had to ask for a change in the structure. So after this implementation we can get a solution to this problem.

Manually resize and automatically wrap text for comments.

Sometimes, when you're designing complex logic flows, you have to fit a comment in a tight space between other elements. For those situations, it would be great if we coud manually resize the comment box and have the text in it automatically wrap.

App Download Statistics (Total downloads and Total Android or iOS users)
Created on 20 Mar 2025
Rishabh Singh

We have multiple production apps which user's downloads using the download link provided by Outsystems.(which are not on playstore and app store). However, we lack visibility into: 1. The total number of app downloads. 2. The number of Android vs. iOS users downloading the apps. To improve analytics, I would like to request one of the following solutions: 1. Access to an existing data source that tracks app downloads. 2. An API that provides real-time statistics, including platform details (Android/iOS). which we can use to integrate in Power BI for visualization and analysis which will help us in improving our strategy. Please let us know if you can help us to retrieve this data. This will help us in optimizing our code for specific platform users because some plugins and functionality lack in IOS then we can work on those and improve it.
