static entity - Input string was not in a correct format
Created on 16 Oct 2020

Hello,We had the following issue when referencing a new static entity in another module:An error occurred in task 'Loading eSpace with key 'f69c72e7-9af0-41b4-a12c-c17261b8a9f0'':Input string was not in a correct format.Details : System.FormatException: Input string was not in a correct format.at System.Number.StringToNumber(String str, NumberStyles options, NumberBuffer& number, NumberFormatInfo info, Boolean parseDecimal)Root cause:We had a static entity defined with a field "Value" of type "Integer"The actual value however was set to 0.5, which is no integer valueThe publish of this module containing the static entity went fine. Then we referenced this table in another module. Still no issue so far. However, when publishing the module we referenced the static entity in, we got:An error occurred in task 'Loading eSpace with key 'f69c72e7-9af0-41b4-a12c-c17261b8a9f0'':Input string was not in a correct format. The platform should block the publish of the initial module if the values of a static entity are not in line with the type. The actual error now comes several steps later in the development process making it very hard to find the root cause.

This is the simple idea,Some time we need to find duplicates in the list instead of looping in the whole list, may be Outsystems can provide the list Action which can provide the output as these elements are duplicate. Thanks

Allow per-method OnBeforeRequest/OnAfterResponse callbacks
Created on 09 Jun 2017

Often we need to treat some HTTP status code of a particular method differently. For example, it could be that one method returns a 403 as a result for a CheckPermissionsForObject, and we would want that converted to a boolean output, rather than a protocol exception.Currently, there's no way to do that without an extension and the use of the Advanced callbacks, because we have not enough information to determine which rest method was called.

Manage Dependencies (Recently Updated by ME)
Created on 19 Nov 2018

Hello guys,I was thinking about a large environment, a lot of eSpaces and I realized that manage dependencies it is a little annoying.Think about! We have add a new reference, and we have been typing the eSpace name for searching it, after it you will pick up your eSpace and then choose your action or you will need search it as well. So, how many times have you doing it just to add a new reference that you just compiled? In fact is, when we add a new reference is very common search an eSpace that we have recently updated, my suggest is add a sub group inside the "manage dependencies pop up" named "Recently Updated by <me>" like this image. That would help a lot, remember, using the canvas model we are compiling the core and front-end at all times, and when we created a new action in Core we have to make reference.

Add optional Rounding Mode to Round() and FormatDecimal()
Created on 05 Feb
Gokula Kannan P
1
I propose adding an optional parameter to the Round() and FormatDecimal() functions to select the rounding strategy (e.g., Round Half Up, Round Down, Ceil, Floor ). Currently, OutSystems client-side uses Decimal.js with a hardcoded default of ROUND_HALF_EVEN . While standard, industries like Fintech and Brokerage often require different methods (like ROUND_HALF_UP for taxes or ROUND_DOWN for fractional shares). Update the built-in functions to support an optional rounding parameter: FormatDecimal(Decimal, Integer, Text, Text, [RoundingMode] )

Ability to Reorder display order of Modules of an Application
Created on 23 Mar 2025

In Service Studio, when click on an Application to view its details, modules are automatically order by name. It would be good if developer can drag and drop to reorder module list as they want.

Running applications on localhost before merge and publish .
Created on 02 May 2023

I would like to suggest the idea of running applications on service studio using a localhost server before a merge and publish. This can help in a case where one is working on a big task that can take up to days while there is a daily deployment that takes places .In most cases a developer has to hide changes that they have made or feature that they have introduced to avoid deploying unfinished tasks , mistakes can happen , a developer can forget to remove for example a button that is there for a purpose of testing and it end up into the next environment through the deployment. There is also a case where by two developer are working on one app , and say developer_1 makes changes on module_1 and they introduces errors on dependent module_2 , then until those errors have been handled it might affect the ability for developer_2 to publish module_2 .Regards,Thizwilondi

If I have an SQL like this:select count(*) from UsersI want an output parameter of INT, I do not want to have to create a stucture with one int attribute to get the value from my SQL.

Width attribute for Popup widget
Created on 01 Dec 2021

As of now Popup can occupy max width of 500px.( .popup-dialog {max-width: 500px;}) . But sometimes we need to increase the width of the popup. It would be good if we have property like width-mobile, width:laptop, width-ipad, range (0-100 viewport width).

Putting an idea as "Out of the scope"
Created on 25 Mar 2021

- Instead of asking someone at OutSystems to delete an idea or to put it out of scope, you should be able to edit your own idea and just put it out of scope. This would save time for OutSystems employees to analyze out-of-scope ideas and constraints among OutSystems users.- So the user who put the idea could keep the points and also because all ideas are useful and it's awesome that everyone is contributing to the product.
