Add ExtendedClass to elements rendered in HTML body
Created on 08 Dec 2025
Mustafa Emad Shaker
2
All widgets in OutSystemsUI have "ExtendedClass" property, which can be used to apply changes to the style of the widget. However, some widgets inject a secondary element to the body of the HTML page. These elements do not inherit the "ExtendedClass", thus if a developer wants to style the element, he/she must apply a change to all said elements. For example, a timepicker adds the popover time select menu in the body, not inside the timepicker tag in the HTML tree. If the popover element has the added "ExtendedClass", the specific element related to the selected widget, can be targeted, and only it be affected by the new style.

Support for Temporal Table
Created on 06 Aug 2018
Renato Nascimento
18
SQL Server from 2017 version introduces the Temporal Table. It is a log mechanism handled by the Database itself. It's possible to go back in time and have audit records in a specific date. With this kind of table developers don't need to reimplement audit algorithms for every new routine in the systems. https://docs.microsoft.com/pt-br/sql/relational-databases/tables/temporal-tables?view=sql-server-2017

Filter out System application from User created application
Created on 14 Mar 2025

In a Environment, we have System applications (Service center, Sample DB, Outsystems Maps) and User Created applications. I was looking for parameter to filter out system applications from User created application. I need a column in {system}.{application} Entity to find out this. Same applies to ESpace Entity also.

Manage Unused Public Dependencies
Created on 05 Mar 2021
José Gonçalves

Create an option to set unused public actions/entities/etc to No.It could check other modules and if the dependency was not used on any module, set Public to No.Setting Public to No also helps to identify never used elements and keep the producer module clean.

Make OAuth 2.0 a first-class citizen
Created on 24 Jan 2019
Vincent Koning
16
A lot of people are using the IDP Forge component to provide authentication via OAuth 2.0 providers like Azure AD, Google or Okta. The problem with this is that it only has community based support, no build-in methods for protecting own build API's or being able to authenticate with external API Endpoints protected with OAuth 2.0.I think we need to have IDP (or something alike) to be integrated within Outsystems and be support by Outsystems . It should also be made an authentication option for all assets that now can be protected with the build-in authentication methods (like screens and APIs). Also authenticating to other assets protected with OAuth 2.0 should be a native capability.

Full Support for HTML5
Created on 25 May 2010

I would like to see, perhaps in v6.0 (?), full support for HTML 5 in OutSystems applications. For example: providing client-side entities, for taking advantage of the Web Storage and Web SQL Database APIs; Support for new form input types and microformats; Support for font-face (embed fonts as eSpace resources?) Native Audio, Vídeo and Canvas support And much more?

Static entity changes should use a case-sensitive compare when creating data updates
Created on 22 Oct 2023
Stuart Harris
7
When a static entity label is changed by case only (eg "Done" to "DONE", or "Date Of Birth" to "Date of Birth"), the label is not changed when data update scripts are created. Presumably this is because the database script to check for differences uses the COLLATION of the data which is not case sensitive. This suggestion is to use a case sensitive compare when creating data update scripts for static entities.

Set System client actions as functions
Created on 22 May 2024
Tiago Ribeiro

Currently, most client actions exported by 'System' are not functions. It would be helpful to have all these actions as functions so we can use them in expressions and use them in actions that are functions.
