Announcing an exciting new free cloud offering from OutSystems

Hi all,

We are extremely excited to let all of you know about a new way for developers to access the OutSystem Platform for free! Over the past several months, we have invested significant energy to extend our cloud offering, taking into consideration feedback from the community. Today, it is my pleasure to announce that the new personal environments are now live!

You can claim your own free, cloud-based, individual developer personal environment with unlimited software units and use it to develop your own applications!

We’ve prepared a FAQ about the personal environment that covers most of the questions we have received so far. This is a living document that we will update as we get more questions and feedback.

The new personal environment enables anyone already using the OutSystems Platform at work to continue using the same technology to build their very own personal applications at home. We don’t know how people will use their environment, but that’s the cool part - it’s your environment so you decide!

This new way of exploring the OutSystems Platform brings these changes:

We will discontinue the 15-day personal trials shortly
A new ramp-up / assisted experience will be available for people just starting with the platform
The addition of a consolidated learning portal
A new downloads page for easier access to the latest versions of the software.

Go ahead and grab your personal environment and see if you can spot what’s new in this version (we’ll be sharing a video everyday highlighting a new feature). If you will be working on applications from your Community Edition or enterprise subscription alongside your new personal environment before 8.0.1 GA, please review our setup instructions.

This path to personal success with OutSystems was generated with the largest set of use cases possible in mind. We want to make sure that everyone from individual developer through teams of enterprise engineers are phenomenally successful with our solution, and intend on addressing those different markets the best way we can. As you read through the FAQ and have questions - and you likely will - we want to hear from you! If you feel that we have not optimized for your specific use case, let us know directly and immediately at success@outsystems.com. We are quite happy to have individual dialog with you as we make this transition to help you find your personal path to success with OutSystems, in a way that fits your needs!
