[Barcode Plugin] Android smartphone does not install native apk generated with MABS 10.0
Question
barcode-plugin
Mobile icon
Forge asset by OutSystems
Application Type
Mobile
Service Studio Version
11.54.57 (Build 63234)
Platform Version
11.28.0 (Build 43201)

I built 2 applications on 15/Dec/2023 and 19/Jan/2024, both scanning codes and bars, and using the Forge elements “BarCodePlugin”, “CommonPlugin” and “FilePlugin”, with the versions that were available at that time, unfortunately I didn't write it down, and I tried to install it on the smartphone with the MABS 10 option. I couldn't, I changed the option to MABS 9 on that occasion, and both applications were installed, which worked perfectly.

Now (04/MAY/2024) I am building a new application with similar functionality, using the same Forge elements, but the BarCodePlugin is at version 5.5.1 and, according to the documentation there at Forge, it is compatible with MABS 10.0. ..

And the platform does not complete the generation of the native Android application when the MABS 9 (Deprecated) option is configured and only generates it if the MABS 10 option is configured.

It happens that my Smartphone (attached are some prints with information about it) does not install the applications generated with MABS 10, stating “Promoting the package” and then “There was a problem analyzing the package) and it closes.

How to solve ?

Solution

I checked in the OutSystems documentation that MABS 10 is compatible with Android 9 to 14. And I checked with Samsung support that my smartphone with version Android 8.0.0 no longer supports any updates.
