Preventing Duplicate Questions from the Same User
Created on 09 Jan 2024
Reemali patil

Hello Community, I've noticed a recurring issue in our forum – duplicate questions from the same community members. This can clutter the space and make it challenging for both users and moderators. To address this, I propose implementing a feature that prevents users from posting the same question multiple times. Duplicate questions not only make it harder to manage the forum effectively but also impact the overall user experience. The proposed solution involves introducing a system that detects and restricts users from posting identical questions if they have already done so before. This system could be based on the question's content or a unique identifier tied to the user account. The implementation details could involve using natural language processing algorithms to determine question similarity. Additionally, a notification system can inform users that their question resembles a previously posted one. Best Regards Reemali

Require Explanation for OML File Changes in Forums
Created on 11 Mar 2025
Erwin van Rijsewijk

In the forums, it should be forbidden to post answers that only state that the OML file has been modified. A textual explanation of what has been fixed in the OML file should be mandatory. This way, people can learn something without having to search through the source.

Consolidate 'delete' action in Service Studio
Created on 12 Mar 2025

There are currently 3 ways (that I remember) of deleting assignments in Service Studio: Variable assignments can be deleted with CTRL + D Unused inputs can be deleted with Delete Events can only be deleted by deleting the text I think the same shortcut should work for all three.

Separation of email 'Test List Addresses' per app
Created on 19 Jun 2023

Besides being able to configure separately which email server different apps from an Outsystems factory can use, which is already an Idea: https://www.outsystems.com/ideas/305/multiple-email-server-configuration-support/ I also think it would be useful to separately configure the "Test List Addresses" field, so that different apps in the same factory can send test emails to a different subset of emails: If the server idea takes longer to implement, and the separation of the "Test List Addresses" field takes less effort to implement, I believe it would be a quick-win to implement this feature first.

Allow Exporting BPT Activity Logic to Image
Created on 05 Mar

Currently, OutSystems allows exporting the BPT Process Flow as an image, which is very useful for documentation and communication. However, this export only shows the high-level activities and does not include the logic implemented inside each activity. Adding the ability to export the internal logic of BPT Activities as an image would complement the existing Process Flow export, allowing developers to capture both the high-level process view and the detailed activity implementation.

Show if current eSpace is being published
Created on 05 Feb 2019

It would help a lot to know if another developer on the team is busy publishing the eSpace that you are working on. This will prevent concurrent publish issues, and publishing without updating references, saving us time and frustration. This can be shown on or next to the 1CP button (perhaps turn it an orange/amber colour with an exclamation mark), and perhaps on the application eSpace list in the IDE, as per the image below (see red square):

When selecting multiple objects, I often need to know how many did I select, this is something that I've seen across other IDE's and feels very natural to have.I created an example with the number below:

We have Code mentor to assist code development in Outsystems. Similarly, it would be great if we have AI mentor assistance while debugging the code.

Make it possible to restrict currency to whole numbers
Created on 04 Nov 2025

As it stands currently, setting the "Decimals" value to 0 or -1, defaults the amount of decimal spaces for the Currency datatype to 2 (eg. "$12.33" instead of "$12"). Similarly setting the decimal separator to an empty string "", causes the entire value to become a decimal. Fixing either one of these would allow Currency to be forced to whole numbers only.
