Hi João Ribeiro ,

Starting with OutSystems can be exciting and challenging! Here’s a structured way to approach learning it effectively:

  1. OutSystems Guided Paths:

    • Go to the OutSystems Learn platform: https://www.outsystems.com/learn/
    • Beginner Path: Start with the Becoming a Web Developer course (choose Reactive or ODC depending on the type of app your company focuses on).
  2. Hands-on Practice:

1. Create an outsystems account Go to https://www.outsystems.com Click "Start for Free" and create an account This gives you access to an individual environment (your own cloud space to make apps and test apps) .

2. Install the required equipment After signing in: Download outsystems service studio (Windows for now) Alternatively, Download Outsystems Developer App on your phone to preview mobile apps.

3. Start with official directed teaching path Go to: https://learn.outsystems.com

Start with:

  1. Reactive web developer path (beginning) 🔗 link Learn how to create web apps Basics include: Data modeling, logic, UI and deployment.
  2.  Outsystems 101 Course (Video-based) 🔗 link Short and beginner.

4. Practice by creating a simple app In Service Studio, use directed tutorials ("Create your first app") Try to create a two-do list or contact manager Play with institutions, screen, buttons and logic flows.

5. Join the communities and forums Outsystems community Ask questions, share ideas, find out forge components .

6. Explore forge for ready-to-use components Inside the service studio, click on forge Browse component (QR code scanner, chart, calendar) Install and test them in your personal environment.

7. Plan for certificate Once you are convinced with the basics, target: Outsystems associates traditional web developers, Outsystems Associate Reactive Web Developer, These certificates can direct your study and promote your resume.

Alternative (but highly recommended): Join outsystems discord or telegram groups Follow outsystems developers on LinkedIn Read blogs and success stories on outsystems blogs.

Two small updates to this information:

The big "Start for free" now points to the shared and temporary ODC version. You can still get the personal O11 environment, but it is at the bottom of the page.

Service Studio is cross-platform. Also works in Mac. Linux user can use virtual Windows.
