Containers and Databases: New Platform Server
The new version of Platform server helps you keep things in their right place. Logging data is now separated from the OutSystems platform and application data in the database. No more interference with the application runtime, plus you can apply different retention policies. Additionally, you can now package OutSystems applications as Docker containers and deploy them to container platforms such as Docker EE, Azure Container Service, and Amazon ECS. Or, you can orchestrate your deployments with Pivotal Application Service.

New LifeTime: Independent Version
From now on, LifeTime is an independent management console, requiring its own environment. This latest version has new capabilities to make app management the smoothest process. When adding applications to a staging in LifeTime, the deploy option will be selected by default. LifeTime Analytics device database information was updated to include recent devices, operating systems, and browsers, and we added a default retention period to Analytics as well. And, a new weekly timer deletes older cached module versions that are no longer required in the infrastructure, improving the performance of LifeTime validations.

Platform Server: Mobile Improvements
The time-out for building mobile applications has increased to 30 minutes, once you launch it from Service Studio. We also improved the way mobile apps save information when in the background or after being closed. Find more interesting new features in the latest Platform Server.

Bringing Insights Up to Date
To enhance your Insights experience, we will be sending you a monthly digest email with the summary of your app usage. Events also got a little revamp; you can now customize their type and color and see them in the Reviews List.
Entity Actions were feeling left out from the global search, and that didn’t seem fair. So, now the global search also returns Entity Actions, too.
Everyone knows the pain of finding and replacing. This new Service Studio version makes that so much easier. If you select text and press Ctrl + F, the global search opens with your selected text already populated. For the Search and Replace window, it’s the same: select text, press Ctrl + R, and the Search field in the Search and Replace window is populated.
Service Studio modules can be like browser tabs. One minute, it’s just one, and the next, you have so many you can’t keep track. To help with that, you can now use “Close,” “Close other modules,” and “Close modules to the right” on the module tab. All you have to do is right-click the tab to see the new options.
Never miss a thing. With a constant flow of updates, you want to make sure you're always using the latest Service Studio version. To stay in the know, simply go to Help > Check for updates... to find out if you’re using the latest version.
Exporting entity diagrams as images is very useful, right? So it should be as easy as possible. Simply right-click an entity diagram and select “Export to Image.”
