OutSystems takes a holistic approach to integrity validation. A tracking system monitors the impact of changes across all application aspects, including data models, business logic, and presentation layers. The platform's self-healing capabilities automatically rectify issues and alert developers to any pertinent concerns that require their attention. By tracking dependencies, automating database updates, and conducting thorough impact analyses, OutSystems ensures that changes seamlessly integrate into the application lifecycle without disrupting overall functionality and user experience.
An automated staging process seamlessly traverses multiple environments, incorporating full dependency analysis, automated rollback functionalities, and streamlined governance mechanisms. The platform's versatile version control system facilitates efficient tagging and hotfix detection, allows for easy management of deployment processes and user governance, and ensures compliance with stringent regulatory requirements.
Moreover, the OutSystems platform enables users to take snapshots of applications and modules at pivotal stages of development, thereby facilitating the retrieval of application states and versioning for future deployment requirements. Robust APIs support seamless integration with existing DevOps tools and processes, empowering organizations to extend deployment functionalities, align with specific operational requirements, and foster a unified, streamlined deployment experience.
The integrity validations, self-healing capabilities, and impact analysis provided by the OutSystems platform significantly reduces the occurrence of bugs typically associated with traditional development. This translates into fewer test-and-fix cycles, which expedites the development and delivery process and minimizes the overall effort required for application deployment and maintenance.
The platform also supports the use of additional, third-party tools throughout the application lifecycle. Because the OutSystems platform generates standard applications, users can integrate any tool needed for effective testing and quality assurance.
Learn more about OutSystems testing guidelines
OutSystems users can establish staging environments for rigorous testing of changes before deploying them to production. If issues arise after deployment, users can roll back to a previous version. The platform also supports change impact analysis so that teams can evaluate the potential effects of changes over the entire application portfolio. In addition, OutSystems facilitates autonomous teams and independent delivery through a seamless, loosely coupled architecture to address specific business demands. This architecture empowers teams to deliver changes independently, with the added benefit of impact analysis feedback to proactively assess the implications of moving changes to the next stage.
