In today's software landscape, with the ongoing shift away from monolithic systems, support for microservices is vital for developing highly scalable applications. It's essential though, to understand that microservices entail more than just building small, independent components. They represent a shift in how software is conceived and constructed.
While it's clear that breaking down complex systems into smaller, manageable services enhances scalability and development agility, it comes with its own set of challenges. Because monoliths and microservices do not represent a simple binary choice and not all systems neatly fit into either category, OutSystems gives you the peace of mind that if you want to fully adopt microservices to enhance scalability, you don't have to sacrifice the major development benefits inherent to the platform.
