Inspections have a long history, and most of it’s manual. In today’s modern world, companies need to adapt to rapidly changing regulations and quality standards. Manual inspection processes make that difficult, so OutSystems Partner Aaseya built an inspection solution to simplify the process and amplify efficiency. This blog shares Aaseya’s story.
Inspections - an ancient art!
The art of conducting inspections has been around for centuries. Inspections were used to assess crop conditions, monitor irrigation systems, and ensure proper land use. Authorities inspected the quality of seeds, soil, and farming practices to optimize agricultural output.
There were regular inspections in the armies of ancient civilizations to ensure that soldiers were well-trained, properly equipped, and in good physical condition. Weapons, armor, and other military equipment were routinely checked to maintain a state of readiness.
Fast forward to the present and inspections continue to play a critical role in society and business as the complexities of global markets and regulatory pressures increase and change every day. However, they are largely manual, which makes them error-prone and can create duplicate work. They are often stored in paper-based formats on-premises or in email inboxes, Digitally automating inspections can address these challenges and create opportunities for improvement.
Key business drivers for digital automation of inspections
Efficient on-site inspections and data collection cannot be done on paper. There are seven key business drivers for digitally automating inspections, which are summarized in this table. (see the following table)
Automation solutions need to be digital from the start and mobile by design. Aaseya knew it was up to the challenge–it just needed the right development platform to help it get there quickly.
Automating inspections requires rapid customization
Application agility, resilience and adaptability are critical for meeting the ever-changing demands of all types of inspections. Traditional one-size-fits-all commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products cannot meet these needs. By contrast, custom applications address unique business rules and processes rather than forcing an organization to conform to a COTS product. Speed, agility, and customization are needed, but at a cost that is affordable to purchase and maintain.
AIS and OutSystems to the rescue
Aaseya has been at the forefront of the inspections automation industry because it uses the OutSystems AI-driven, cloud native, mobile ready, low-code platform. So it created the Aaseya Inspection Solution (AIS) on OutSystems and changed the economics of the “build vs. buy” decision. AIS is designed to be customized to address the unique regulations and workflows of an organization but at an affordable cost. With OutSystems, Aaseya can use AI-driven “mentors” throughout the software development lifecycle to provide industry best practices for application security, scalability, reliability, and extensibility. AIS is also designed to use AI and large language model (LLM) technology to rapidly ingest published regulations and modify forms, workflows, and checklists.
Aaseya developed, deployed, and continues to customize AIS for public sector organizations around the world. These agencies have achieved improved inspection accuracy rate, reduced completion time, better inspector territory coverage, and optimized inspector utilization. For one organization alone, AIS has processed more than 3,000,000 cases and supports over 6,000 users. This organization saw an increase in regulatory compliance and streamlined fee collections.
How has AIS changed the economics of automating inspections? With the following features.
Visual inspections
AIS elevates the inspection experience with visual inspections. Users can capture and interpret images and videos for a more comprehensive data collection and submission.
Mobile inspections and Smart Checklists
Bid farewell to static checklists. AIS introduces Smart Checklists that adapt to specific inspection needs ensuring a personalized and efficient process no matter where you are.
Actionable inspection insights
AIS goes beyond data collection and turns data into actionable insights. Real-time analytics empower organizations to make informed decisions based on inspection data.
Seamless integration
Robust integration capabilities enable AIS to connect with almost any system. AIS ensures seamless integration that orchestrates end-to-end process journeys, promoting collaboration and efficiency across platforms.
Guided workflows
AIS simplifies the inspection journey with guided workflows, providing step-by-step navigation for consistency and error reduction.
Powered by low-code
The OutSystems low-code platform accelerates initial delivery and reduces the cost of modifications that are needed to address changing regulations and requirements.
Integration with generative AI
AIS integrates natural language processing, voice-to-text, and deciphering of unstructured data to guide inspectors through relevant checklists and find potential violations.
Meet your unique present and future inspection needs with Aaseya and OutSystems
The inspection industry changes daily, and AIS can provide your organization with the customized application you need to meet your unique present and future requirements.
Inspections have been around for thousands of years, but your organization doesn’t need to use obsolete technology.
Welcome to a smarter era of inspections with AIS and OutSystems! Get all the details about AIS on the Aaseya partner web page.
