The NextGen Certification Modernization project transformed New York State’s vendor certification process by replacing the rigid Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) solution with a customized OutSystems application. Initially we streamlined data capture, automated workflows, and accelerated processing times, improving certification and denial handling. In the next phase we launched a public-facing NextGen Business Portal, offering a user-friendly interface for searching certified vendors by capabilities and location, fostering transparency and better vendor matching. This modernization not only improved internal operations but also advanced NYS’s commitment to diversity and economic development by creating a more inclusive, efficient marketplace for certified vendors. The project laid the foundation for continued growth and opportunity across the state.

The client faced a significant challenge in efficiently managing workplace safety across multiple buildings. The manual process of identifying, documenting, and resolving safety risks was time-consuming and prone to errors. This inefficiency could lead to delayed responses to potential hazards, putting employees at risk. The new application begins with a robust safety assessment process. Authorized users can access a digital form designed to conduct comprehensive safety evaluations for each assigned building. The implementation of the Workplace Safety Management application significantly enhanced the efficiency of safety assessments and risk management. The New York State Unified Court System now benefits from: Improved Safety Compliance: Faster detection and resolution of safety issues. Enhanced Accountability: Clear task allocation and duration tracking for risk mitigations. Data-Driven Insights: Valuable data and trends on safety performance and risk management.

Phase 2 Application modernization to provide a public portal for Certified vendor lookup. The application provides a user friendly interfaces to search and drill down on the capabilities of the certified vendors as well as geo location.
