This project delivered comprehensive maintenance and evolutionary enhancements to a front/back-office portal, slashing datagrid load times from over a minute to under 2 seconds for thousands of records through virtualization, pagination, and incremental loading best practices. It transformed standard tables into dynamic datagrids with grouped filters, inline editing, and unified multiple backoffice pages into a consistent grid view for superior UX and maintainability. Additional optimizations included migrating file uploads to S3 with an automated resizing algorithm to cut latency and storage costs, alongside a full refactor of the mobile scanner app for modular architecture, bug fixes, and future scalability.

The project refactored a MATLAB-based extension into a dynamic, web-integrated solution following a Dynamic Extension Pattern. Instead of statically linking MATLAB libraries, the system leverages a custom C#/.NET wrapper to dynamically load and execute compiled MATLAB DLLs. This wrapper handles the execution lifecycle and data marshaling between the MATLAB runtime and the OutSystems platform, enabling runtime flexibility and modular algorithm management. A Back-Office Management Console in OutSystems allows administrators to upload DLLs, configure input/output parameters, and trigger executions directly from the web interface. This architecture significantly enhances agility and maintainability, allowing new algorithms to be deployed or updated by simply replacing a DLL and adjusting configurations—drastically reducing time-to-market for new computational models.
